The Artsakh Security Council informs that on 1 November, the President of the Republic held a consultation dedicated to the epidemiological situation in the Republic.

According to the instruction of the President of the Republic, on 3 November, with the involvement of the heads of the interested state and community structures, the Secretary of the Security Council Vitaly Balasanyan held a working consultation dedicated to the implementation of quarantine measures against the spread of the new coronavirus (COVID-19) in the country.

The Minister of Health Mikael Hayriyan made a report at the consultation. According to him, the spread of the epidemic in the Republic has been sharply increasing during the last month, and in order to prevent it, it is necessary to take comprehensive and urgent measures issuing from the situation.

According to that, draft decisions of the heads of urban communities were presented to the consultation, according to which, from 22:00 on 4 November, 2021 to 1 December of the same year, quarantine is established in Stepanakert and in a number of urban communities of the Republic. The drafts present the measures and restrictions applied during the quarantine.

In addition, awareness-raising activities will be held on public platforms in the coming days, among which the propaganda component aimed at increasing the share of vaccination among the population is especially important. The local self-government bodies will also carry out a large volume of work to ensure the correct understanding of the size and significance of the problem by the population, stressed V. Balasanyan.
