On 8 October, President Armen Sarkissian signed a decree stating:
“Based on the proposal of the Prime Minister, in accordance with Article 132, Part 1, Clause 2 of the Constitution, and Article 14, Part 1 of the Law on Diplomatic Service, to appoint Arsen AVAGYAN Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Armenia to the Islamic Republic of Iran (residence in Tehran),” the decree reads.
It should be reminded that by another presidential decree, Artashes Tumanyan was recalled from the post of Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Armenia to the Islamic Republic of Iran.
