Turkologist Varuzhan Geghamyan wrote on his Facebook page :

“The construction of a new building of the “Turkish Pentagon”, the Turkish Defense Ministry and General Staff, has started in the Turkish capital Ankara. This structure, which will open in 2023, has the appearance of a crescent and a star, which are the symbols of the Turkish flag.

In fact, the construction of the new building symbolizes the change in Turkey’s foreign policy strategy. Turkey considers military power (hard power) to be the main tool for resolving its foreign affairs. This change is commonly called “militarization” – the militarization of foreign policy.

This building is, in fact, a message to the region. “Turkey is not preparing for peace in the region (including the South Caucasus).”
