Goris Deputy Mayors Irina Yolyan and Menua Hovsepyan were arrested within the framework of the criminal case being investigated by the Investigative Committee.

The Investigative Committee confirmed this information in a conversation with Iravaban.net.

Both are charged under Article 149.1, Part 2, Clauses 1 and 2 of the Criminal Code, “Forcing to participate in the pre-election campaign or campaigning in the referendum, or refusing to participate in the pre-election campaign or campaigning in the referendum, or obstructing the participation in the pre-election campaign or campaigning in the referendum, using official or other dependencies, and using official position.

Deputy Mayor Menua Hovsepyan is also accused of embezzlement or waste on a particularly large scale under Article 179, Part 3, Clause 1 of the Criminal Code.
