Lawyer Gayane Papoyan wrote on her Facebook page that the complaint on the legality of the arrest of Meghri Mayor Mkhitar Zakaryan is ready and will be submitted to the court.

“The discussion of my complaint on the legality of the arrest was assigned to Judge Manvel Shahverdyan. Shortly before, I received a call informing that the discussion of the complaint would take place tomorrow at  18:30, because it is not convenient for the investigator before that time,” lawyer Gayane Papoyan said in a conversation with Iravaban.net.

According to her, the discussion of the complaint is obviously delayed. The lawyer mentioned that at the moment Mkhitar Zakaryan is being held in the detention center.

“I told the court staff that the court is obliged to discuss this complaint as a matter of priority, let the court discuss the issue of the investigator’s not coming and decide, but the rply from the staff was that the court is on duty, and it has other cases to do at the moment,” the lawyer said.

Earlier we reported that lawyer Gayane Papoyan told reporters that Meghri mayor Mkhitar Zakaryan was represented by the body conducting the proceedings as the organizer of the actions against Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan in Syunik region. She said that the investigators were unable to explain the essence of the suspicion. The defense side was not provided with the explanation by what actions Zakaryan organized the mentioned events.
