It will take more than 15 years to completely demine the territory of Nagorno Karabakh and clear it of explosives. Director of the NKR Humanitarian Demining Center Samvel Mesropyan told RIA Novosti.
“I have been working in this profession for 20 years. I estimate that it will take about 15 years to find everything, clear mines, clear the territory of Karabakh of explosives. We will look for them not only in the cities, but also in the villages. There is a lot of work to do,” Mesropyan said.
According to him, tank and artillery shells, hand grenades and cluster bombs are the most dangerous among those found.
