Professor Bertrand Venard is the new Rector of the French University in Armenia

Since 20 September 2020, Professor Bertrand Venard is the new Rector of the French University in Armenia. Before becoming Rector, Bertrand Venard was a professor at the University of Oxford (Oxford Internet Institute, United Kingdom) and Audencia (France). He obtained a Doctorate in Management from the University of Paris (9) while doing his research at the Management Research Center of the Ecole Polytechnique (France). As a full professor, he has an Habilitation à Directiger des Recherches (HDR) from the University of Paris (12) (post-doctoral degree of research director and professor). He also received a Postgraduate Diploma in Teaching and Learning in Higher Education from the University of Oxford.

Prior to entering an academic career, he worked in the financial sector and in consulting for PwC. He then held various management positions in higher education such as Director of Research, Member of the Board of Directors and Director of a management school. Thus, he created the CFVG in Ho Chi Minh City in the early 90s, today a prestigious business school in Vietnam. He was visiting professor at the Wharton Business School (University of Pennsylvania) at IESE (Spain), the London Business School and the University of Cambridge.

He has received many accolades for his research such as the Sloan Fellowship ( USA ), the Academy of Higher Education Main Fellowship (UK) and twice the prestigious Marie Skłodowska-Curie Fellowship.(European Union). Since 2002, Professor Bertrand Venard’s name has appeared in the “Who’s Who in the World” listing the most influential personalities in the world. In 2008, he was made Knight of the Academic Palms, a distinction awarded to academics, by the French Ministry of National Education. His research topics focus on economic fraud, cybersecurity, corruption, particularly in emerging countries. He has thus led projects on corruption for the government of Bhutan, the fight against corruption for the PRME, the United Nations Global Compact or a European study on cybersecurity. He has published over 50 academic papers. He is a member of numerous academic and professional associations such as the Academy of Management (AOM),
