The Civil Aviation Committee informs.

“During the martial law, the Civil Aviation Committee of Armenia has taken measures to ensure the security of the country’s airspace for civilian-humanitarian flights. The Committee has issued 3 NOTAM messages to all airlines.

The first of the messages is of a warning nature, in which the Committee urges pilots to conduct additional risk assessments before flights during the ongoing hostilities on the Armenian-Azerbaijani border.

The second NOTAM informs about the possible availability of unmanned aerial vehicles in the airspace of the Republic of Armenia, at the same time asking the crews to immediately provide the information to the air traffic controllers in case of any unknown aircraft.

Thirdly, the Committee informs about certain restrictions on the air border between Armenia and Azerbaijan. Some outlets were closed for security reasons. The Committee also noted the high level of co-operation between air traffic control authorities and the Air Defense Forces.

EUROCONTROL-Aeronautical Safety Organization and EASA-European Aviation Safety Agency expressed their confidence in the steps taken by the Civil Aviation Committee of Armenia, fulfillment of obligations and safety steps.

“Taking into account the hostilities in the region, the Civil Aviation Committee took all measures to ensure the security of Armenia’s airspace. Today is the “International Day of the Air Traffic Controller” and I congratulate them, emphasizing their high professionalism and dedication in air safety. During the most difficult days of the epidemic, the controllers voluntarily isolated themselves at work for days, and during the war they continue their heroic work around the clock to do invaluable work to keep the airspace of Armenia safe,” Tatevik Revazyan, Chairwoman of the Civil Aviation Committee said.
