Yervand Khundkaryan was not elected President of the Constitutional Court

Yervand Khundkaryan, the only candidate for the post of President of the Constitutional Court, was not elected to the post of President of the High Court. Judge of the Constitutional Court Edgar Shatiryan told journalists about this.

“Yervand Khundkaryan was not elected chairman of the Constitutional Court, as he was the only nominated candidate, he did not get the necessary number of votes in favor,” Shatiryan said.

It should be reminded that the election of the President of the High Court has been going on for three days already. Yervand Khundekaryan self-nominated yesterday, and former chairman of the Constitutional Court Hrayr Tovmasyan nominated Ashot Khachatryan, but the latter withdrew.

Shatiryan mentioned that new elections of the President of the Constitutional Court should be organized in a short period of time.
