I advise to be more careful when listening to the whispers of some people fighting against the reforms: Rustam Badasyan

According to the Minister of Justice Rustam Badasyan, the law on struggle against criminal subculture works.

He writes about this on his Facebook page ․

“One of the media outlets published an article today entitled “They cannot prove in court who the ‘thieves in law’ are,” noting that based on the law on combating criminal subculture I presented in the National Assembly, “in real life, the law enforcement system fails to prove in court who the ‘thieves in law’ or the criminal authorities are in order to punish.”

Let me remind the author of this publication that this is not the first case of application of this law. Just a few months ago, by the way, the same daily newspaper published about a person arrested by the NSS on suspicion of forming and leading a criminal subculture group by a person with the highest criminal status. He was arrested.

Therefore, this law works in practice, the criticisms voiced at the stage of the draft law that it will not work in practice were fabrications.

And today, when a case was registered that the court did not consider the evidence of adhering to the criminal subculture as reasonable for applying a precautionary measure, without understanding, without going into the details of the case, the media outlet accuses that the law does not work.

I appreciate the fact that the media is so focused on the field of justice, at the same time I advise to be more careful when listening to the whispers of some people fighting against the reforms.

The law has had very little time for practical application, or it is already clear that there is no problem at the level of the law. It follows from international experience that there is no obstacle at that level. I am sure there will be new revelations in the near future.”
