The Supreme Judicial Council has issued a statement saying:
Pursuant to the provisions of Article 76, Parts 4 an 5 of the Judicial Code of the Republic of Armenia, on 9 July of this year, the Head of the Judicial Department sent notices to 9 judges of the Civil and Administrative Chamber of the Court of Cassation, who have the right to be elected a member of the Supreme Judicial Council.
6 applications were received from the Civil and Administrative Chamber of the Court of Cassation from the candidates for a member of the Supreme Judicial Council with request not to include their names in the ballot.
The head of the Judicial Department included the following names of 3 judges in the ballot for the election of a vacant member of the Supreme Judicial Council.
