The National Assembly fully adopted the Draft on making changes in the Constitution In the second reading,.

It envisages that:

• Hrayr Tovmasyan’s tenure as chairman of the Constitutional Court will be terminated.
• The powers of the members of the Constitutional Court who have held office for more than 12 years will cease.

In other words, 3 members of the Constitutional Court (judges), Alvina Gyulumyan, Felix Tokhyan and Hrant Nazaryan, will leave the Constitutional Court.

After this draft, the draft law on making amendments and additions to the Constitutional Law of the Republic of Armenia “Rules of Procedure of the National Assembly” was discussed and adopted. It was established that after the adoption of the constitutional amendments by the National Assembly, the Speaker of the National Assembly publishes them without sending them to the signature of the President of the Republic. They will come into force on the day following their official publication.
