The rate of spread of coronavirus increases in absolute numbers, but the percentages are the same. As the base grows, so do the numbers. The Minister of Health Arsen Torosyan stated this today, 26 April, on “Azatutyun”, referring to the increase in the number of people infected with the coronavirus in Armenia during the last week.

It should be noted that 407 new cases, 253 recovered and six deaths were registered in Armenia last week.

“Unfortunately, we have a variety of centers. That is, if at the beginning of the eruption, in mid-March, we had exactly one, two, then three centers, then the spread of the virus came out of those centers, and now there are dozens, sometimes twenty unrelated centers, and we cannot find the threads, to link with the first centers. This is natural, because there are many asymptomatic cases, it is possible that the infection is spread by a person who did not know that he was infected,” he said.

According to Arsen Torosyan, the other “unfortunate direction” of the spread of the infection is the medical centers.

“We have now focused all our efforts on preventing the spread of the disease in medical facilities and protecting patients with other diseases,” he said.
