Armenian Students Studying at Various US High Schools under the FLEX Program are returning to Armenia

According to the RA Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Armenian Embassy in the United States has been in constant contact with the Armenian representative of the FLEX program for Armenian students and high school students in different US states.

As a result of the agreement reached between the Ministers of Foreign Affairs of Armenia and Georgia, in cooperation with the American Councils, the return of Armenian and Georgian students studying at various US high schools under the FLEX program was organized on  9 April, to Armenia and Georgias respectively.

The Armenian Embassy in the United States has coordinated the safe transportation of students from 19 US states to the city of Chicago, and then to Armenia via the Doha-Tbilisi-Yerevan flight.

The Armenian Embassy in Chicago and the Armenian Honorary Consulate in Chicago have provided Armenian students with the necessary medical safety equipment. It also coordinated the meeting and escort of Armenian students at Doha Airport to another leaving hall.

As a result of the above-mentioned cooperation, 34 students are returning to Armenia and one student who is studying in the USA within the framework of the American ACES program. Upon their return to Armenia, they will be subject to a 14-day mandatory quarantine regime.

This is another good example of the cooperation between Armenia and Georgia in the situation of the spread of the new type of coronavirus in organizing the return of citizens who are in different countries. We thank the American Councils for organizing the transfer of Armenian students quickly and smoothly, as well as for our Georgian partners for their support and effective cooperation.
