A Group of Armenian IT Specialists will simulate the Possible Spread of Coronavirus in Armenia

In order to collect, analyze, disseminate data on the spread of Coronavirus (COVID-19), to compile data from international partners, to forecast the situation, a research group has been set up involving analysts, information technology and artificial intelligence specialists, and other experts.

Ministry of High-Tech Industry informs.

RA Minister of High Technology Industry Hakob Arshakyan met with specialists of the formed group to discuss upcoming steps and opportunities.

The formation of the group was intended to implement modeling the overall probable spread of coronavirus (COVID-19) as a result of mapping of the centers of the diseases using modern technologies, combining information on human movement, zones of spread and other information, which could be a major support for the work of health infrastructure.

Hakob Arshakyan expressed confidence that the activities of the research group will allow to receive accurate and correct information on the situation, which will contribute to better coordination and management of the disease prevention activities.

The Minister emphasized the importance of individual efforts of each specialist in the realization of this joint project.

During the meeting the directions of the activity of the group, the necessity of the resources and the possible deadlines were presented and discussed.

The project is implemented by the initiative of the RA Ministry of High Technology Industry, as a result of cooperation with the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Armenia.
