David Khajakyan, member of  the Council of Elders  of Yerevan wrote, “A member of the “My Step” faction posted a photo of Hrayr Tovmasyan’s daughter on his Facebook page pointing it out and writing “this is H. Tovmasyan’s daughter’s FB, let’s see your action people.” This exceeds not only the border of inciting hatred, but also the border of morality as it relates to the official’s family. Such a person shall not have the right to hold the mandate of a member of the Council of Elders. I hope my Council colleagues will give an adequate assessment of this,” he wrote

It should be reminded that a draft law on amending the Criminal Code has been submitted for public discussion. The draft proposes to supplement the Criminal Code of the Republic of Armenia by Article 226.2, which will provide for liability for public calls to publicly perpetrate violence that is dangerous to life or health, publicly justify or advocate such violence.

The Government has approved the draft and it will soon be discussed in the National Assembly.
