Prosecutor General’s Office sent Publications on the Information Provided by Arman Babajanyan to the NSS

The publications on the information provided by NA deputy Arman Babajanyan regarding the meeting with Nairi Hunanyan, sentenced to life imprisonment on 27 October, 1999 case, have been sent by the Prosecutor General’s Office to the National Security Service for verification of the circumstances therein. Mr. Gor Abrahamyan, Adviser to the Prosecutor General said to Iravaban.net.

“There are new circumstances that need to be restarted in the criminal investigation of the case, which are not known to the Prosecutor’s Office at this time. According to the Criminal Procedure Code, new proceedings can be initiated only if there is a new circumstance,” Mr. Abrahamyan said.

It should be reminded that on 27 October, 1999, the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia was attacked during the Government Q&A session.

As a result of the terrorist attack RA NA Speaker Karen Demirchyan, Prime Minister Vazgen Sargsyan, National Assembly Vice Speakers Ruben Miroyan and Yuri Bakhshyan, Minister of Operations Affairs Leonard Petrosyan, MPs Armenak Armenakyan, Henrik Abrahamyan and Mikael Kotanyan were killed, are 8 injured and 91 were captured.

The 27 October judgment was announced on 2 December, 2003 according to the Kentron court ruling, 6 people were sentenced to life imprisonment and one person to 14 years in prison.

Recently, the independent MP Arman Babajanyan announced that on 24 October he had a private talk with the leader of the 27 October terrorist group Nairi Hunanyan, with whom he discussed various issues, including the domestic political life of Armenia.

The meeting lasted about 2.5 hours.
