The Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Armenia issued a statement, which reads:
“The Armed Forces of the Republic of Armenia are out of the political process and every day, every hour, the RA defense; security, territorial integrity and inviolability of the borders are ensured. Nevertheless, it is evident that organizing mass events in violation of the law, attempts to seize the only authorized power formed in accordance with the law, the attempts of presenting an ultimatum to the Prime Minister elected in accordance with the Constitution are fraught with unpredictable developments that can seriously affect the aggravation of the border situation, which is already noticeable .
According to intelligence data, military-political leadership of Azerbaijan views the developments in the country as a significant factor for the new military adventure against the Republic of Artsakh. The further aggravation of the situation contributes to it.
The attempts to seize power, block public institutions, block public transport routes, paralyze the public administration system, and disrupt normal lives will inevitably lead to the escalation of military challenges facing us. In order to ensure the protection of the country, all the state institutions need harmonious and sustainable cooperation.
Undoubtedly, the Armenian army is capable of resisting any enemy attack. However, internal instability is a factor that can only have a negative impact on defense issues, the transfer of state from peaceful situation to the state of war, and conducting the mobilization activities in case of possible undesirable developments.
The RA Ministry of Defense calls on organizers and participants of unsanctioned mass events and gatherings to refrain from actions that may lead to internal instability. The Armenian Defense Ministry lends its tribute to the tens of thousands of our people at any moment of the day, whose trust and perseverance also depends largely on the situation in the rear and the organizers of peaceful actions should remember not only the consequences of the action but also our commanders and about the dangers posed for soldiers.
