President attends Police Board extended Meeting

President Serzh Sargsyan attended today the extended meeting of the Police Board, which discussed issues related to police services and the results of operational and service activities carried out by territorial authorities in the first nine months of 2017. The meeting was addressed by Police Chief Vladimir Gasparyan and First Deputy Chief of Police Hunan Poghosyan.

In his speech, the President of the Republic of Armenia touched upon the problems faced by the Police, outlined the priorities and objectives of the Police, about the expectations from the Police, the proper cooperation with other law enforcement agencies under the new conditions of correlation of State agencies stemming from the constitutional reform and a number of assignments provided for the prevention of offenses, maintenance of public order and security in the country; as well as other areas.

President Sargsyan underlined that the Police have great potential for solving the existing problems, as well as the support of the Head of State and Commander-in-Chief, assuring that the State is always ready to stand firm for all the initiatives that increase the efficiency of its service.

Prior to the expanded meeting of the Police Board, the President visited the renovated premises of the Police General Directorate of Criminal Intelligence to inspect the activities carried out and the conditions created for the Department’s activities.
