A session of Anti-Corruption Council with participation of the representatives of civil society organizations was held today, chaired by Prime Minister Karen Karapetyan. The Government Staff reports.
During the session, the experts of the Independent Expert Group presented the corruption risk in the sphere of providing services to the citizens by the police, as well as the corruption risks identified in health, education and revenue collection sectors, and the action plans for their reduction. A wide range discussion related to these issues took place and a number of suggestions and observations were presented.
Prime Minister Karapetyan attached importance to the implementation of consistent steps aimed at reducing corruption risks in the mentioned spheres and gave corresponding instructions in that direction.
In particular, Karen Karapetyan instructed the Minister of Education and Science, the Minister of Health, the RA SRC Chairman and the Chief of Police to discuss by September 20 all the observations submitted, and if necessary discuss and develop the drafts in cooperation with the experts, and submit the updated versions to the Government Staff. In addition, in order to implement the program, the Prime Minister instructed to provide financial resources within the framework of the budgetary funds, and if necessary, discuss it during the review of the budget.
Karen Karapetyan instructed the Chief of Staff of the Government to discuss the draft in November, if necessary, with other stakeholders, to complete the document, and present it to the Government’s consideration.
