Speaking about the Anti-Corruption Council created by the Government Gayane Gevorgyan, lawyer and coordinator of AYLA Anti-Corruption center of Shirak, told that the policy carried out by the Government is nothing else than a demonstrative step for international organizations.
She claims: “They just want to show that the responsibility taken with conventions by RA has been fulfilled. Their work was actually not effective; they have shown from the very beginning that the work strategy was not a right decided one and instead of solving primary important problems, they deal with those of secondary nature”.
According to her, for reading out the available problems of the Council the society is apt to work by means of NGOs and as long as the representatives of those NGOs are not members of the Council, it cannot work effectively.
“The Anti-Corruption Council would have generally made use of NGOs’ potential, i.e. the NGOs must have been the keys of the struggle, but they missed those keys. For instance the Council cannot reach anything in Gyumri in this way”- said Gayane Gevorgyan.
The first session of the Council will be held on 28 July.
