Accused of committing Immoral Acts against Underage Girls

A 57-year-old man is accused of committing immoral acts against three underage girls. According to “DataLex” Judiciary Portal, the case has been sent to The Court of General Jurisdiction of Kentron and Nork-Marash Administrative Districts of Yerevan City and was assigned to Judge Gagik Poghosyan.

According to the indictment, in the morning on 6 June, near the underground pass at “St Sargis” Church in Yerevan, the accused noticed three underage girls born in 1999, and who apparently were under the age of 16 years. He chased them and entered the underground pass where he tried to provoke the schoolchildren’s sexual instinct and to stimulate unhealthy sexual interest he showed genitalia. The girls left the place in panic.

The man is accused under Article 142 Part 2 (2) of the RA Criminal Code, and if the charges are proven he could face up to 5 years in prison.

Note: The suspect or the accused of the alleged offence is deemed innocent unless his or her innocence is proved by virtue of the effective court verdict in the manner prescribed by the Criminal Procedure Code of the Republic of Armenia.
