No NGOs have submitted Applications, to be included in the Anti-Corruption Council

Not a single NGO has submitted an application for participation in the competition to be included in the Anti-Corruption Council. Iravaban.net learned this from the RA Government.

The announcement about the competition stated that the Non-Governmental Organizations can submit their applications to the address: Governmental Building 1, Republic Square, Yerevan, 0010.

We asked Marine Tovmasyan, the responsible from the Staff of the RA Government for applications for the competition, whether any applications were submitted. She informed that so far no applications were submitted to the RA Government.

Thus, we can state that the competition which was announced on 28 April had no results. The Council will be headed by Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamyan.

It is worth mentioning, the anti-corruption coalition uniting more than 70 NGOs has refused to participate in the competition for participation in this council, as well as the Public Network for cooperation with State Authorities consisting of 150 NGOs which made a statement, The Coalition of Armenian NGOs with Special Consultative Status in the UN Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) and the anti-corruption NGO “Transparency International” “(TI), which has participated in the elaboration of the anti-corruption strategy concept prefer to stay in the status of an observer.
