Results of forensic genetic expertise in the framework of the criminal case on Avetisyans family murder in Gyumri which is examined in proceeding of the General Department of Investigation of Particularly Important Cases of the RA Investigative Committee were received. We learned this from the RA Investigative Committee.
Considering the public interest we inform that Valeri Permyakov’s DNA was found on the gun, military uniform and other objects, which were found at the scene of the murder.
The results of of forensic genetic expertise of the DNA from the cigarette butts found in Avetisyans’ house coincided with the samples from DNA taken from the blood of Seryozha and Armen Avetisyan for 99.99%. Whereas the sample of DNA from a “VIP” cigarette but found on the gas stove coincided with the DNA taken from Permyakov’s blood up to 99.9%.
The samples of DNA were compared with those taken from the bayonet knife sheath, handle, belt, bayonet knife belt, uniform up to 99.99% as well and the samples taken from AKS 74 gun which belong to V. Permyakov.
Preliminary investigation is in process.
The suspect or the accused of the alleged offence is deemed innocent unless his or her innocence is proved by virtue of the effective court verdict in the manner prescribed by the Criminal Procedure Code of the Republic of Armenia.
