The RA Prosecutor General accepted the Evaluators’ Delegation of the Group of States against Corruption of the Council of Europe /GRECO/, which is in Armenia in the framework of the preparation of 4th Monitoring Report on the theme “Preventing Corruption among the MPs, Judges and Prosecutors.”
The Prosecutor General emphasized that an everyday consequent work is necessary to ensure the unconditional trust of the public. The Prosecutor’s Office has started fight against corruption from the prosecution system. Elimination of corruption is one of the main objectives of prosecution. The RA prosecutor General mentioned that the initiated cases on bribery among the officials are under his direct supervision and control, and that we could state that recently there is a positive development in this direction.
During the meeting, among other issues the issues related to disciplinary sanctions against the prosecutors, the procedures of operation of the commissions of ethics and qualification of the prosecutors, and the declarations on property and income of the prosecutors were discussed.
At the end the GRECO representative expressed gratitude for the open, efficient and interesting discussion.
