Today, the RA Government launched the communities’ consolidation project by affirming of the 6-10 issues. According to the approved drafts, local elections will be held in the communities of Syunik, Tavush, Lori, and Vayots Dzor marzes of the RA.
For example in order to unify Tumanyan, Marts, Qarinj, Lorut, Shamut, Atan, Ahnidzor communities of the RA Lori Marz a local referendum will be appointed in those communities on 17 March, 2015. The referendum will seek the replies to the following question: “Will you agree if Tumanyan, Marts, Qarinj, Lorut, Shamut, Atan, Ahnidzor communities are unified under the name Tumanyan, with the center of Tumanyan community?”
Such referendums will be held in the other communities as well.
