The criminal cases on the murders of Q. Vardanyan and S. Hakobyan from Gyumri are connected into one proceeding. Its preliminary investigation is going on in the General Department for Investigation of Especially Important Cases of the RA Investigative Committee, by the instruction of the Head of RA Investigative Committee.
Earlier we have informed that in the morning of 7 March 2015, in the adjacent gulch of the Yerevan-Gyumri-Bavra road, a “Nissan Teana” vehicle was found. On the back seat of the car the body of Qrist Vardanyan (born on 1984) was found with gun-shot injuries. A criminal case is initiated according under Article 104, Part 1 and Article 235 Part 1 of the RA Criminal Code in Akhuryan Investigative Department of Shirak Marz Investigating Unit.
On 8 March 2015, in the administrative district of village Qeti in the adjacent gulch of on the 7.6th km of Gyumri-Bavra road, the body of Samvel Hakobyan (born on 1981) was found with consequences causing death. In the Akhuryan investigating department of Shirak Marz investigating Unit a criminal case has been initiated under Article 104, Part 1 of the RA Criminal Code.
As a result of the conducted investigation activities it turned out that Q.Vardanyan and S.Hakobyan had known each other and that the latter had been at Q,Vardanyan’s house on 6 March. At nearly 22.00 o’clock S.Hakobyan left. After some minutes Q.Vardanyan also left the house in the “Nissan Teana” vehicle.
On 7 March at nearly 00:00, their phone numbers became unavailable and their relatives were unable to reach them. The forensic experts told that according to the results of inner and external examination on the bodies they had died nearly at the same time. Based on the evidences of the preliminary investigation, a series of working cases were elaborated. Among them there is one considering that Q.Vardanyan and S.Hakobyan were killed by the same person or the same people.

Conduction of the preliminary investigation is entrusted to the General Department for Investigation of Especially Important Cases of the RA Investigative Committee.
