The Central Bank has issued a Coin “100th Anniversary of the Armenian Genocide”

The Central Bank of the Republic of Armenia has issued a coin “100th Anniversary of the Armenian Genocide.” The authors of the sketches are Suren Simonyan and Aram Urutyan. Iravaban.net learned this from the Central Bank of the RA.

The front side of the coin depicts the memorial monuments of the Armenian Genocide: the Mourning Mother’s Memorial (Izhevsk), Monument to Composer Komitas (Paris), Cross-stone Monument (Echmiatsin), Cross-Stone Column (Glendale), Tsitsernakaberd Memorial (Yerevan). Inscriptions: «Հայաստանի Հանրապետություն» (Republic of Armenia), «100 դրամ» (100 drams), «Republic of Armenia» և «Armenian Genocide».

The reverse side depicts the Armenian Genocide memorial monuments: Monument of Armenian Hayduks (Ujan), fragment of a Monument in the form of an eagle (Aleppo), a fragment of Memorial sculpture of a woman’s (Sao Paulo), Cross-Stone (Antwerp). Inscriptions:: «Հայոց ցեղասպանություն» (Armenian genocide), «1915-2015».

The coin is made of silver, with the nominal value of 100 AMD, diameter of 50.0 mm, weight 67.2 g, and the circulation of 1,000 copies.
