In the framework of EEC membership the specialized customs house of the Ministry of Finance provides a number of simplified procedures and innovations to the declarants. According to the Head of the Customs House Suren Ghazaryan, the whole process of import and export of excisable goods has been facilitated. Due to the fact of the absence of common border with the other EEC states, currently, instead of receiving of a statement for “Export for free circulation” for the goods exported by land, now the declarants shall fill in a simplified “transit declaration.” The excisable goods exported by air do not need customs statement. Given the fact that about 70% of customs declarants carry out activities in the EEC member countries, it can be said that the membership in the Union creates favorable conditions for business.”
