On basis of the report lodged by the Prosecutor of Malaita-Sebastia Administrative District of Yerevan city, a criminal case was launched in accordance with Paragraph 3 of Part 3 of Article 311 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Armenia based on the materials prepared in the State Investigation Service of the Republic of Armenia.
On basis of the report of the Prosecutor, the official in charge of conducting state special service of the Tax Inspectorate of the Ministry of Finances of the Republic of Armenia, by using his powers requested a bribe from Yeghishe S., in favour of the latter who is engaged in conducting a commercial-economic activity in the territorial inspectorate, for abstaining from exercising a proper control over the fulfillment of the tax liabilities by the latter and received a substantial amount of bribe in the sum of 1 million Armenian drams.
A preliminary investigation is underway.
