Effective Cooperation within the CSTO to response Illegal Migration

On 5 February, the Coordinating Council of heads of competent authorities of CSTO member states was held in Yerevan; the Information and Public relations department of the RA Police reports.

Secretary-General of Collective Security Treaty Organization Nikolai Bordyuzha, the Head of Russia’s Federal Migration Service Konstantin Romodanovski, as well as high officials from and heads of corresponding services from the Republic of Belarus, the Republic of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyz Republic, the Republic of Tajikistan, representatives of the Executive Committee of the CIS Countries, Eurasian Economic Commission, Senior representatives of the International Organization for Migration of the Moscow Bureau, and others.

The agenda included a number of urgent issues. Specifically: Organization of preventive and special operations of the rapid response to illegal migration in CSTO format; Activities of the Eurasian Economic Commission in the sphere of labor migration; Use of innovations of the Russian federation in the field of regulation of foreign labor recruitment; Elaboration of joint approach for the response to illegal migration in the light of functioning of the Eurasian Economic Union; Elaboration of an Information System within the CSTO on refugees and asylum seekers; the work of the points for regular collection systematization and exchange of data, and other issues.

After the detailed discussion of the topics on agenda the final documents of the Yerevan session of Coordinating Council of heads of competent authorities of CSTO member states were signed.
