What did the MPs and the Prime Minister agree on the “Turnover Tax”?

The provision on mandatory documentation requirement of the Law on Turnover Tax was postponed at today’s NA session. Prior to the vote, Naira Zohrabyan, Secretary of “Prosperous Armenia” Party said, the secretary said that stalling for time was not a solution. “We hope to come to agreement in constructive field and in a short period of time introduce a draft law, which fundamentally solves the problem and eliminate the concerns of SME representatives. We are not going to vote for procrastinating the time and of course we are not against, because in case of negative vote this bad option will stay, so “Prosperous Armenia” Party will abstain from voting.” Ms Zohrabyan mentioned.

Rubik Hakobyan, Leader of “Heritage” faction mentioned, that there decision to abstain from voting was due to the following factors, “It was decided at the meeting with the Prime Minister that during the next two weeks, we shall come forward with a joint and merged draft.”

Heghine Bisharyan, Head of “Rule of Law” Faction explained that at a meeting with the Prime Minister, which held in the Office of the NA Speaker, it was decided that the problem should be solved within 2 weeks, and there was nothing said about postponement till July. The Rule of Law decided to abstain from voting. The ANC was of the same opinion. Armenian Revolutionary Federation Dashanktsutyun faction decioded to vote for.

The draft was put to a vote, 75 deputies voted for, 1 against, while 40 deputies abstained.
