On 22 January, the RA Ambassador in the US Tigran Sargsyan met with the member of the US House of Representatives, Congressman Adam Schiff of California; the Press Service of the RA Foreign Ministry informs.
Ambassador Sargsyan and Congressman Schiff referred to the issues on the agenda of the pro-Armenian group of the Congress. Ambassador Sargsyan appreciated Congressman Schiffer’s individual contribution in the issues referring to Armenia and the Armenian people in the context of the US political schedule. Congressman Schiff in turn reaffirmed his commitment.
The parties discussed the current situation in the region, specifically the growth of tension on the whole length of NKR-Azerbaijanian and Armenian-Azerbaijanian contact lines. In this context Schiff stressed the primary importance of the efforts aimed to ensure peace and stability in the region. According to Ambassador Sargsyan the active role of the US and the international community are of vital importance in this issue.
The parties attached importance to attracting th US investments, stressing the positive experience of the information technologies and the cooperation with the companies and investors from the Silicon Valley.
