Surik Kostanyan, Chairman of the Court of General Jurisdiction of Shengavit Administrative District of Yerevan City submitted a resignation letter, տhe RA Judicial Department informs. Surik Kostanyan is the father of the RA Prosecutor General Gevorg Kostanyan.
The decision of the Council of Justice was published on the official website of the RA Judicial Department. According to the decision the Council of Justice discussed Surik Kostanyan’s application at the meeting on 12 January 2015. The decision clarifies that Surik Kostanyan had health problems, had applied and his powers were suspended.
In addition, on 19 January the Judicial department had published an announcement in its official website about collection of nominations for the vacant position of the Chairman of the Court of General Jurisdiction of Shengavit administrative District of Yerevan City.
It is due to mention that Surik Kostanyan’s the release of the position should be correspondingly approved by a decree of the RA President Serzh Sargsyan. However there is not any such document in the corresponding sections (Decrees of the RA President) in the official website of the RA President.
The RA Judiciary Department informed that Surik Kostanyan’s authorities were suspended by the 16.01.2015 Decree of the RA President. The Presidential information service told that they had had a technical problem and the decree will be in the website later.
