Heads of Investigative Committees of the RA and RF signed an Agreement on the establishment of Coordinating Staff

The Information and Public relations department of the RA Investigative Committee informs that on 20 January, Aghvan Hovsepyan the Head of the RA Investigative Committee and Alexander Bastrykin, Head of the RF Investigative Committee signed an agreement on the establishment of a Coordinating Staff to ensure joint and mutually activities on investigation as well as comprehensive and complete investigation of the case of the murder of Avetisyans’ family in Gyumri.

The Heads of the Investigative Committees of the two countries stressed the importance of complete disclosure of the murder, the comprehensive and objective investigation of all circumstances of the case and agreed to carry out joint and mutually coordinated actions. The established under the agreement Staff will coordinate the joint activities during the investigation.

The Staff is composed of 10 persons, representatives of the RA and RF Investigative Committees and criminologists.

All judiciary activities during the investigation of the case will be carried out under the requirements of the international norms, and the agreement signed between the RA and RF on the RF Military base in the RA.

During the meeting, the Alexander Bastrykin, the Head of the RF Investigative Committee assured that the criminal case investigation, preliminary investigation and the future trial will take place exclusively in the territory of the Republic of Armenia.

The main issues discussed at the working meetings that took place during the visit of the Head of RF Investigative Committee referred to the issues of the case investigation and its process. In the evening on January 20, the delegation returned to Moscow.
