The Delegation headed by First Deputy Defense Minister of the RA Visits Georgia

On January 16, the delegation headed by First Deputy Defense Minister of the RA David Tonoyan paid an official visit to Georgia. Lieutenant General Enrico Apriamov, the first deputy chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces was in the delegation as well; The Information and Public Relations Department of the RA Defense Ministry informs.

Levan Girshiashvili, the Georgian Deputy Defense Minister met the delegation. The parties discussed the issues of cooperation between the Republic of Armenia and Georgia in the sphere of defense, and also referred to the present and the future prospects of the regional security issues. The sides noted that bilateral cooperation in the defense industry is in the list of priorities both in Armenia and in Georgia. Military education and training were mentioned as the key areas of cooperation.

At the end of the meeting of the officials of defense ministries of the two countries signed the 2015 Plan of Bilateral Cooperation in the military sphere of Armenia and Georgia. During the visit, the delegation led by Deputy Defense Minister of the RA also met with Georgian Defense Minister Mindia Janelidze.
