President Serzh Sargsyan granted amnesty to the former Head of Criminal-Executive Department Samvel Hovhannisyan. Iravaban.net learned this from Samvel Hovhannisyan’s defender Georgi Melikyan.
Mr. Melikyan informed that the amnesty was granted on 27 December. The advocate also reminded that Samvel Hovhannisyan had health problems, and he would carry out intensive activities to restore his health.
The First Instance Court had sentenced Samvel Hovhannisyan to 12 years in prison for fraud in especially large amounts by a group of persons on mercenary purposes and for preparation of assassination.
