On December 3 Minister of Foreign Affairs Edward Nalbandian, who is paying a working visit to Basel, met with the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs – Ambassadors Igor Popov, James Warlick, Pierre Andrieu and Ambassador Andrzej Kasprzyk, Personal Representative of the OSCE Chairperson-in-Office.
The Foreign Minister of Armenia drew the attention of the Co-Chairs to the intensification of bellicose rhetoric of the last few weeks coming from the top level in Azerbaijan, to the statements distorting the essence and contents of the negotiations, gross violations of ceasefire regime on the border with Armenia and on the line of contact with Nagorno-Karabakh, which resulted in the loss of lives, the situation caused by the shooting down of the helicopter of the Nagorno-Karabakh’s Defense Army during a training flight.
During the meeting the sides continued the discussions on moving forward the process of peaceful resolution of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.
Edward Nalbandian reassured that Armenia will continue its joint efforts with the Co-Chairs towards exclusively peaceful settlement of the Karabakh issue.
