A criminal case under the requirements of Part 2 of Article 309 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Armenia was initiated based on the materials prepared by the Special Investigation Service of the Republic of Armenia according to the report of convict of “Artik” Penitentiary of the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Armenia.
According to the report on 16 September 2014, approximately at 8 a.m. he was taken to Mush Division of Gyumri City Police of Shirak Provincial Department the RA Police. Here the police officers applied violence against him forcing to admit the fault on committing theft. They also threatened to hold his son criminally liable if he would not do so.
He was forced to agree with this and admitted that he had allegedly committed the theft.
Preliminary investigation is in process.
Note: The suspect or the accused of the alleged offense is deemed innocent unless his or her innocence is proved by virtue of the effective court verdict in the manner prescribed by the Criminal Procedure Code of the Republic of Armenia.
