The hearing in Vahagn Vermishyan’s case was postponed again due to the Constitutional Court decision

A hearing was held in the Anti-Corruption Civil Court regarding the case of confiscation of allegedly illegally acquired property of Vahagn Vermishyan, former Chairman of the Urban Development Committee and former Chief Architect of Stepanavan city. The hearing is presided over by Judge Karapet Badalyan.

According to Iravaban.net, like the previous one, this court hearing was also postponed at the request of the plaintiff’s representative to present a position in the context of the Constitutional Court decision.

The court granted the submitted motion, the hearing was postponed, and the next one will take place on May 26.

Recall that at the previous hearing, the plaintiff had presented a motion proposing to change the basis and subject of the claim, with about 4 million drams being reduced.

In a conversation with us, lawyer Armen Melkumyan had noted that at this stage, this contradicts several regulations of the Civil Procedure Code: “When the evidence has already been distributed, you cannot bring a motion to change the basis and subject of the claim.”

Presiding Judge Karapet Badalyan had announced during the hearing that uncertainty may arise due to the Constitutional Court decision, and based on the need to ensure the effectiveness of the examination, it is necessary to postpone the resolution of the motion and call for another court hearing.
