“No need for consumers to submit any application to receive compensation for penalties”: New regulations regarding frequent water and electricity interruptions

The Public Services Regulatory Commission has established new regulations concerning frequent interruptions of water and electricity supply.

In a conversation with Iravaban.net, Hayk Ghosalmyan, Head of the Financial-Technical and Application Review Department of the PSRC, presented the nature of these regulations.

In case of emergency power outages, the new regulations stipulate that if it is the second or more occurrence within one calendar year where the restoration time exceeds the prescribed period, then from the second time onwards, the consumer is paid a penalty amounting to 50 percent of the average monthly value of consumed electricity, but not exceeding 10,000 drams.

A similar regulation has also been added regarding water supply interruptions.
