The People of our Neighborhood ran away Barefoot, my Sister did not even manage to take the Prosthesis: Forcibly Displaced

“I have been a driver for 30 years, I crashed my car for the first time in a Turkish “post”, Luba Nalbandyan told in the framework of “Artsakh: Armenian Genocide 2023. Stories of Survivors” documentary project.

She is forcibly displaced for the third time. She lived in the village of Karmiravan until she was 24 years old. Her brother was killed in the first Artsakh war.

“We were already in Stepanakert in February 1992. We have lived in Shushi since 1993, we built apartments, shops, and we lived very well. After the war of 27 September, 2020, when we were depopulated from Karabakh, we left Shushi on 17 October. They told us that we are going out for two days so that civilians do not die,” she said.

In 2021, she returned to Artsakh again, built a house and shop again, but not long after that, she had to leave Artsakh.

Mrs. Lyuba says that it was unexpected for them; no one officially told them that they should leave their land, their house. “We saw that everyone from the regions had come, and we had to leave. We left on 27 September.”

Our interlocutor says that she had an accident for the first time near Hakari bridge. She notes that what happened was a tragedy.

“We saw the Genocide of 1915. I saw this in Maragha again,” she said.
