The Rescue Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs presented the operational situation in the disaster zone.

“As of 28 May at 5:00 p.m., the works of studying settlements, searching, assessing damages, draining water from basements, as well as evacuation and food distribution are being carried out in Lori and Tavush marzes.

A total of 6 combat units and 1 operational group, totaling 44 rescuers, were involved in the work of the regional rescue department as well as 1 combat unit, 5 rescuers from the Center for Conducting Special-Purpose Rescue Operations (Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Armenia) in Lori marz,

A total of 137 residents were evacuated from Sanahin station (of which 5 on 28 May), 141 residents continue to stay in Sanahin station. A total of 130 tons of water was drained.

Works are being carried out in the cities of Alaverdi, Tashir and in Haghpat village.

As a result of the rescue operations, 443 people were rescued and evacuated from different settlements of Lori and Tavush marzes by the Rescue Service Units of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and other involved forces.”
