On 12 April, at around 3:25 p.m., the Ministry of Defense announced that the “Ural” truck carrying the soldiers of the N military unit left the road under unknown circumstances and ended up in the adjacent ravine, as a result of which there wer 4 victims and 20 wounded.
The servicemen who died as a result of the accident are: Areg Armen Kerobyan, Slavik Vardan Vardanyan, Davit Hambardzum Hakobyan, Joseph Melkon Azolyan.
In order to find out information about the dead soldier Davit Hakobyan, Iravaban.net spoke with the Press Secretary of the Sevan municipality of Gegharkunik marz.
“He was from our city, he was from Sevan, they did not live here for many years, they moved to Armavir region. He is from a large family: 4 brothers and 1 sister, a rather modest family, of course with certain social difficulties. The children are smart and disciplined, I know that Davit also graduated with honors from cooking courses. Last year, he and his brother were drafted into the army.”
Our interlocutor also mentioned: “The funeral will take place in Sevan, because the soldier’s grandparents live here, and his parents live in Metsamor. The father has visual problems; his health is a little bad. David was born in 2004. The youngest in the family is the sister, the whole family moved there because of work.”
