When around 500 people were killed, plus the complete depatriation of the people of Artsakh, it is more than a basis for state and  nationwide mourning: Artak Beglaryan

Why has the RA Government not declared mourning in memory of the victims of the last Artsakh war and the explosion of the fuel depot, or at least notified of such an intention? Artak Beglaryan, the former State Minister of the occupied Artsakh Republic, wrote on his Facebook page.

“The tragedy of such a scale, when around 500 people were killed, plus the complete deprivation of the people of Artsakh, is more than a basis for state and nationwide mourning. Although there is a lot of actual mourning in our lives, such symbolic state events and their absence demonstrate the ideological attitude of the authorities to the events.

I would consider the last opportunity to declare mourning on 29 October, the 40th day of the beginning of the war, which, in my opinion, should be at least three days long.

“For comparison, I should note that in August 2022, a two-day mourning was announced in memory of the victims of the explosion that took place in the “Surmalu” shopping center, the scale of which was comparatively small,” he said.
