The court satisfied the petition of the investigator regarding M.Shushanyan’s detention as a measure of restraint and he was detained for two months.
Notably, a public criminal prosecution was initiated against M. Shushanyan under Article 330, Part 2, Clause 3 of the RA Criminal Code, for the fact that on 9 May, 2023 in a video published on the “National Democratic Pole” YouTube page, and also on 22 September in a post on his Facebook page under the name “Mushegh Shushanyan”, he made public calls for violence and justified similar actions.
On 28 September, he was arrested in order to be brought to court.
The investigation is ongoing.
Note: A person that is suspected or accused of an alleged crime is considered innocent until his/her guilt is proved by a court judgment that has come into legal effect pursuant to the procedure determined by RA Criminal Procedure Code.
