On September 25, the RA NA President Alen Simonyan received the Head of the European Union Delegation to the Republic of Armenia Vassilis Maragos.

Congratulating the guest on assuming the position of the Head of the Мission of the European Union, the RA NA President expressed conviction about effective cooperation with joint efforts. Azerbaijan’s aggression against Nagorno-Karabakh and the mass crime were condemned at the meeting. “It is a very difficult situation for the region, but it is extremely difficult for Armenia and the Armenian people,” the Head of the EU Delegation to the Republic of Armenia stressed.

Alen Simonyan highly appreciated the addressed assessments and appeals of the EU leadership regarding Azerbaijan’s new aggression, considering the role of the European Union to be key in establishing stability and security in the region. He thanked him for providing financial support for humanitarian aid to the Nagorno-Karabakh Armenians.

The necessity to impose international sanctions on Azerbaijan was underscored at the meeting.
