On September 22, within the framework of the 78th session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia Ararat Mirzoyan had a meeting with the President of the International Committee of the Red Cross, Mirjana Spoljaric Egger.
The interlocutors discussed the situation in Nagorno-Karabakh.
Minister Mirzoyan emphasized the imperative for addressing the humanitarian problems caused by the 9-months-long blockade of Nagorno-Karabakh, as well as the large-scale attack carried out by Azerbaijan on September 19.
In this context, ensuring humanitarian access of relevant international organizations to Nagorno-Karabakh and in particular the unhindered operation of the ICRC, including through unimpeded movement of goods and people in both directions through the Lachin Corridor, was emphasized.
