Priest Hovhannes Hovhannisyan, the former abbot of Dadivank, who after the 44-day war is serving in Hakobavank in Martakert, was injured in Nagorno-Karabakh on 19 September as a result of Azerbaijani aggression.
The Press Service of the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin told “Armenpress”, that he is currently in one of Artsakh’s hospitals.
“Father Hovhannes underwent spleen surgery. He is now in stable condition,” the press service of the Armenian Church said.
On 19 September, around 1:00 p.m., the Azerbaijani armed forces violated the ceasefire along the contact line of the Artsakh Republic by launching rocket and artillery attacks, using artillery and drones, and attempted positional advancement. There are many victims and wounded, including civilians.
The Defense Army of the Republic of Artsakh undertakes defensive measures.
