Former Mayor of Yerevan Hayk Marutyan wrote on his Facebook page:

“Azerbaijan has launched a large-scale attack on the Republic of Artsakh since this morning, targeting the civilian population.

The calls for the dismantling of Artsakh’s state institutions and the willingness to open a “humanitarian corridor” leave no doubt that Aliyev’s dictatorial regime aims to complete its genocidal policy towards the Armenians of Artsakh with these actions.

It is obvious that after the catastrophic war of 2020, the Government of the Republic of Armenia, reproduced with a peace agenda, has failed in its foreign policy and bears the responsibility for the created situation.

We call on the international community and mediating countries to take clear actions and prevent the genocide and the destruction of Armenian Artsakh.”
